‘Bigging’ up our partners on International Women’s Day
We welcomed International Women’s Day by highlighting the contribution of women at the top of their game in various fields. From teachers to leaders in social enterprises, we joined the rest of the world in celebrating the phenomenal women around us.
Women such as the dedicated Mrs. Susan Rattray-Hammond, who has served as the principal of Petersfield Primary and Infant School in Westmoreland since 2010. She has been leading by example and taking the school to higher level.
We also saluted champion of disabled children, Kathy Chang, who along with other parents of autistic children, in 2006 co-founded the Jamaica Autism Support Association (JASA). She continues to raise awareness of the condition and advocates for the well-being of those living with autism. Latoya Fry of the Forward Step Fooundation was lauded for the work she is doing to increase the peace in the community of Gregory Park in St Catherine. Fry and those around her have increased their focus on income-generating programmes that will benefit the youth in and around the community.
