Promise Kept. Standards Met.
After our promise in 2017 to provide assistance for the Early Childhood Commission (ECC) to certify more basic and kindergarten institutions, we are ringing in 2018 with our first success story. Upper Rock Spring All Age and Infant School has met all 12 of the regulatory Operating Standards of the Government of Jamaica. Certification was achieved in early December after the completion of months of hard work with the school and its surrounding communities.
Our investment of $10.5 million in the Hanover-based institution covered renovation of the entire school plant. In addition, important elements to meet safety requirements such as the installation of perimeter fencing, railings for raised areas and the installation of smoke detectors were completed.
We are excited to hear the outcomes of the other regulatory reviews underway for the remaining schools under our ECC partnership. The moment we hear, so will you.
