In honour of Mickhail ‘King Bettz’ Betancourt
Petersfield Primary & Infant School boasts about increased participation of fathers like Kenneth Lawrence. The Parent Place Programme was introduced and supported at the school by the Ministry of Education, Digicel Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development.
Members of the Betancourt and Digicel families gathered at our headquarters in downtown Kingston recently for the launch of the KB Foundation in honour of the late Mickhail Betancourt.
The KB Foundation is a non-profit organisation established by Mickhail’s well-wishers, to transform the pain and suffering felt from his passing into positive energy by helping other young people improve their lives. The organisation has already supported students at the west Portland-based Early Stimulation Programme Centre of Excellence built by Digicel Foundation with daily meals as well as other school supplies and activities.
“The idea behind this Foundation is that we have two choices. We can choose to be sorrowful or we can use Mickhail’s memories and the generosity of his legacy to give back and rekindle his spirit that fosters prosperity going forward,” said Donovan Betancourt, father of Mickhail Betancourt.
