Tackling crime at the core
This #YouthMonth2017, we highlighted some amazing young people who were working hard to build a better Jamaica, starting with their communities. They are part of community-based organisations that were awarded grants under the Foundation’s Queens Young Leaders Project - a 48-month intervention aimed at empowering youth through skill-building and entrepreneurship in the parishes of Kingston, St. Andrew, St. Catherine and Clarendon.
They live and work in communities affected by crime and negative public stigma and want to change this by expanding job opportunities, through employment of community members within their local businesses.
Be inspired as you watch these amazing young leaders work to make Jamaica better, one community at a time.
There’s nothing like the bond between a Real Dad and his child(ren). Watch as the finalists of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Festival Queen Competition share emotional tributes about the men who shaped their lives.
